Alfredo Arreguin paints the natural world with unbridled enthusiasm tham might almost seem child-like, were it not for his sophisticated technique. His large, richly colored canvases use rainforest motifs in over-all, non repeating patterns. Birds, animals, butterflies, trees, and flowering plants intertwine, sometimes seeming to play hide and seek with the viewer.
The art critic Robert Wilson has called Arreguin's style "Neobaroque...with a strong Latin American flavor". According to Wilson, Arrequin's art shows, "that decorative splendor need not preclude serious meaning in art: that, on the contrary, it may enhance a mood of visionary fervor."
