Born in 1957 in Guadalajara, Mexico, Cristina Cárdenas moved in 1986 to Tucson, Arizona to study printmaking. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts from the Universidad de Guadalajara in 1980 and her Masters in printmaking from the University of Arizona Tucson ten years later.
